Lets you power your 12V DC devices from USB Power Delivery (USB PD)!

SKU: PD12V Category:

Description

The Birdcord PD→12V allows you to power your 12V devices via USB Power Delivery (USB PD).

Compatibility
With an output current of up to 3A, you can power even your most demanding 12V DC devices, like all 12V Elektron devices (Analog Rytm MKI/MKII, Analog Four MKI/MKII, Octatrack MKII, Analog Drive, Analog Heat MKI/MKII, Digitakt, Digitakt II, Digitone, Digitone Keys, Syntakt), Akai MPC One+, Denon DJ LC6000 Prime / SC Live 4, and more. To power devices that would usually need the Roland PSB-12U power supply, you need to additionally get a 6mm Adapter. To power a Pioneer Toraiz SP-16 you need to additionally get a 5mm Adapter.

Play Outside!
Be grid-independent by using this converter cable in combination with a USB PD power bank/portable charger. Enjoy many hours of freedom before recharging!

How Does It Work?
The Birdcord PD→12V makes use of the new powerful USB Power Delivery (PD) charging standard. It communicates with the USB PD power bank (or USB PD wall charger) to negotiate the desired output voltage. The voltage conversion then takes place inside the PD power bank.

Technical Specifications
Output voltage: 12V DC
Maximum output current: up to 3A (depending on PD power bank)
Polarity: center positive
Input plug: USB-C female
Output plug: DC 5.5 x 2.5 mm (fits most 5.5 x 2.1 mm DC jacks too. In case it doesn’t, get this adapter)

Important
Requires a USB PD power bank or wall charger that supports 12V output voltage, for example: INIU 65W 20000mAh PD

Don’t forget to add a USB-C cable if your USB PD power bank doesn’t come with one.

Works perfectly with Elektron Syntakt and an Anker 165w powerbank! At first I thought something was wrong since it seemed like it wasn't consistent, but something to maybe put in the description of the product is that to power Elektron devices you have to make sure that the power button on the elektron is already turn ON before attaching the birdcord. Since I figured that out it works amazing and is very consistent!

With this cable and polarity converter, I can power my 8-pedal pedalboard from a PD power bank without any issues for several hours.

Parfait pour jouer dehors.

Such a tiny but incredibly useful bit of kit – I use it for every gig with the Chirper, and now with the Endophines Evil Pet. I've been using an Anker nano PD powerbank which lasts for 7 or 8 hours, not that my performances last that long!

Works most of the time. Might be a problem with the USB protocol, but it’s not truly plug & play every time, sometimes the power negotiation fails. However, the synth not booting is caused by a safety measure, not an absence of it, and should be completely safe to use.
